Atomy donates $10 million to Compassion KoreaAll children in the world are precious beings worthy of love
Global direct selling company Atomy (CEO Park Han-gil) donated $10 million to Compassion Korea (CEO Jeong-in Seo) on October 15th to use it for children suffering from diseases and hunger. Atomy’s $10 million donation (about 12 billion won) is the largest donation in Compassion’s 70-year history. Atomy is operating in 23 countries around the world, including Korea. Compassion is an international child rearing organization that nurtures a child holistically until he or she becomes an independent adult. In particular, Compassion has a deep relationship with Korea. During the Korean War in 1952, Pastor Everett Swanson, who visited Korea as a chaplain, raised funds for war orphans in Korea. Currently, Compassion supports more than 2 million children worldwide, of which Compassion Korea supports 120,000. Seo Jeong-in, CEO of Compassion Korea, said, “Children’s lives have become more difficult due to COVID-19 and the future has become uncertain.   Atomy and Compassion Korea donated this donation to ‘Emergency Childcare Supplement Project to Help Haiti Earthquake Damage’, ‘Corona 19 Emergency Childcare Supplement Project’, ‘Asia Area Youth Childrearing Development Program’, ‘Help Children Waiting for Supporters’ and ‘Growing 252’ It will be used for ministry donations, etc. The ‘Emergency Childcare Supplement Project to Help Haiti Earthquake Damage’ is a project that provides temporary shelter for children and families affected by the Haiti earthquake in August. Through this, about 12,000 families with sponsored children and 34 Compassion Children’s Centers will receive support. The ‘Corona 19 Emergency Nursing Supplement Project’ is a project to help children and their families in Asian countries suffering from COVID-19. The ‘Asian Youth Nurture Development Program’ is a project that supports youth education and training programs in Asian countries, including the Philippines. ‘Helping Children Waiting for Supporters’ is a holistic parenting support program for children who have not met a sponsor, and the ‘Growing 252 ministry donation’ is used to support the creation of educational content to provide the Compassion holistic parenting program to the next generation.Atomy has spent more than 10% of its operating profit on social contribution activities over the past three years, including donating 10 billion won to the Saengso-Mom fund to the Fruit of Love in 2019. In particular, we are expanding support for disadvantaged children by donating 2.7 billion won to the construction of a public children’s rehabilitation hospital at Jeonju Jesus Hospital, and 400 million won to Save the Children to support children who have ended protection and victims of sexual offenses. Atomy Chairman Han-Gil Park said, “It is the most beautiful thing in the world for children to grow up flawlessly.
